The Story

Scott Erickson (Scott the Painter on Instagram) juxtaposes story-teaching, participation, image curation and performance art when he talks about the overwhelming voices he encountered that told him to give up. The voices included these familiar themes known to many people who suffer from anxiety and depression: Nothing new will ever happen, you suck and are ugly, and this one--dying is better than living.

But, through examining his greatest moment of despair, Scott revealed this moment not as an ending but as a doorway into a much deeper invitation to our hopes, vocation, and our existence itself.
