Ep. 238/ Middle Aging and Mental Health/Sabrina Ullman Matthews
The Story
Sabrina Ullman Matthews is a therapist who has been fascinated with people's interior lives since she was a child. She is exceptionally skilled in conversation with women about aging, purpose, and the creativity endowed in each of us.
In this episode, Sabrina talks about the virtues of puttering, the ways in which "diminishment" is a social construct, and she sets forward a template for experiencing joy, meaning and the power that comes from recognizing that we are all "just energy entering the room." Everyone needs a wise older woman in their life, and Sabrina is delighted to commit to a future where she will work with people's minds and behaviors until she can no longer speak. We are here for it!
